Trichopigmentation is a methodology that has been specifically designed to be absorbed by the human body in the mid-term. Pigments are characterized by a molecular structure that is completely different from the tattoo (size is considerably smaller). This feature allows our body to absorb the particles contained in the pigments, ensuring (at least theoretically) their complete disappearance, which varies from 2 to 3 years at the optical level and, in the least twice as long of the dermal level.

The trichopigmentation effect lasts from 6 to 18 months depending on a skin type, applied technique, treated area and the pigment used.

Pain is a very subjective and individual factor during the trichopigmentation procedure. Nevertheless, the use of advanced products and equipment replaces this sensation with a slight discomfort that will be only apparent during the session.

The average time of the first session of the trichopigmentation procedure is three hours; the second session is two hours. It all depends on the area and the quality of a skin we treat.

The time needed for derma restoration is around 24 hours; once this period expires removing the excess pigment and fixing the remaining one we can start the second session.

All the skin “abnormalities” including seborrheic dermatitis prevent the procedure of the trichopigmentation. However, the procedure can be performed regardless. The problem is related to stabilization, fixing of the pigment, especially if seborrheic dermatitis is characterized by flaking. Oily skin and peeling can facilitate and speed up pigment output (this is normal, but in this case it is increased).
Before the procedure, it is recommended to follow your physician’s advice (and even better – your dermatologist…) using specific products, which restore the skin and in this case prepare it for the trichopigmentation.

It is recommended to shave your hair before the procedure of the trichopigmentation (optimal length is 1 mm), at least 24 hours before the procedure. If the scalp is irritated, the blood excessively irrigates the skin surface that can prevent the proper stabilization, fixing of a pigment.

At least 4 days before the procedure it is necessary to stop taking topical medications (Minoxidil, Locoidon, Scalpicin, Anti-androgens, etc.) as well as the use of systemic drugs that promote blood thinning.

During and after all trichopigmentation sessions, patients should not wash their scalp with or without shampoo. The next day after the last session, a client should clean the treated areas by a special shampoo for the Trichopigmentation and apply a specific serum twice a day to promote a more effective healing.

Alcohol should not be consumed immediately before the procedure, even in the smallest amounts.
